The undergraduate mathematics program of the University of Caloocan City comprised of general education courses and substantial mathematics courses applicable in Business, Engineering, Statistics and Technology. To comply with CHED CMO No. 19, s. 2007, the aforesaid program attempted for a change in nomenclature to BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN MATHEMATICS for its freshmen before the Technical Assessment of the Commission on Higher Education last September 28, 2012. However, because of the K-12 effect of the Basic Education Curriculum in the future, the attempt for a change of nomenclature and curriculum did not materialize. Thus, the Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics is still the current undergraduate mathematics program offered by the University while still waiting for a new CMO to be issue by CHED that is aligned with the K-12 program.

PHILOSOPHY

Mathematics is the actual and projective measuring tool of life since ancient times and in the modern world. It involves analysis of relationships and construction of real life situations and virtual representations through formulas and illustrations.

MISSION

To prepare the students for higher level of learning in mathematics and become competent in both academic and non-academic job opportunities.

VISION

Graduates who have high level of analytical thinking and problem solving skills from classical to contemporary Mathematics.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science combines a core of Computer Science subjects with substantial depth in other required minor subjects. This will ensuresthat students have the required tools to remain updated as technologies and trendschange. The program is design mainly to maintaining the technical knowledge of the students starting from first year up to the last semester of the year of their stay.The curriculum is packed with all the basic and advanced programming skills and necessary supporting computing science fundamentals.

The field of Entertainment and Multimedia Computing is the study and use of concepts, principles, and techniques of computing in the design and development of multimedia products and solutions. It includes various applications such as science, entertainment, education, simulations, and advertising.

The program enables the students to be knowledgeable of the whole pipeline of Game Development and Digital Animation projects. The students will acquire the independence and creative competencies to articulate project design and requirements of new projects, not necessarily based on standard templates.

The course is designated to prepare graduates to become effective and efficient public servants to man government offices all over the country. Only passers of the University Entrance Examination with an average of 83% better can quality to enroll. A grade retention of 2.25 is imposed to ensure quality graduates. Review lessons are incorporated to all subjects in the third graduation. Successful passers are assured of better career service in the government. BPA is offered in the both the North and South Campus.

Students are being proficient in the skills necessary as a communication practitioner in various fields like broadcasting, print, theatre arts, cinema, and advertising. The program also tailors basic knowledge in the Business Process Outsourcing Industry (BPO) which includes integrated courses from TESDA in line with the CHED objectives to have an Outcomes-Based Education Program

GOAL

This program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills in the theory and practice of communication applicable in various professions and contexts, with focus on the media professions.

FIELD OF STUDY

Communication as a field of study covers the various ways by which humans communicate. It focuses on how verbal and non-verbal messages are used to create meanings in different contexts using diverse media platforms. It includes a broad range of subject matter ranging from the study of communication in interpersonal relationships, groups, organizations, and cultures

CAREER GOALS

Graduates of this program may find employment as public and corporate communication/information officers, social science and communication researchers/analysts, communication/media planners and managers, program/project development officers, public relations and advertising practitioners, media practitioners, learning system designers, multimedia designers and allied/related professions.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The new millennium brings progress by effectiveness, efficiency, innovation and competitiveness, thus, need to achieve these factors necessitates a move that can accelerate the development of a training scheme that will propel students towards meeting global standards.

This department is created due to the increasing complexity and multifaceted nature of contemporary society which makes communication competencies a key to survival and advancement in today’s knowledge society. Communication practitioners, in whatever medium have an important role to play in the various fields and sectors of society. Communication Education can address this increasing need for the skills and competencies of communication professionals.

The department of Political Science was established 1997, was a center of learning, with the principles of democracy, excellence towards progressive, responsible, state of the art, leadership in Caloocan City and the nation. The role of the department to develop students’ experts in politics and governance. Indicating the philosophy of responsible citizenship, in order to achieve progress and development with social justice and public service for all, through Academics excellence, scientific research and community service in Caloocan and in the Philippines. Presently there are 905 students in the department with 6 sections, producing 5 Supreme Student Council (SSC) President, 2 Crossroad editors-in-chief 5 cumlaude with graduates who became college professors, police officers, law students, HR personnel, high school teacher, call center agent, barangay officials, government officials and employees.
