Dr. Marilyn T. De Jesus is the current University President of the University of Caloocan City, exemplifying the transformative power of education through her career and leadership. Her journey at UCC is marked by her steady progression through various leadership roles, including Department Head, University Registrar, Director of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), Campus Administrator, General Services Officer (GSO), and Vice President for Administration, before becoming the university president. This extensive experience across different departments provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the university, which she now leads with dedication.

Dr. De Jesus began her educational journey at Grace Park Elementary School and Caloocan High School. Her early commitment to leadership was evident during her youth when she was elected Kabataang Barangay (KB) Chairman, a role that deepened her dedication to public service and shaped her future career path. She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration from Manila Central University, followed by a Master in Public Administration from Gregoria Araneta University Foundation and a Doctor of Public Administration from the University of Caloocan City. These academic milestones reflect her relentless pursuit of personal and professional growth through education.

Before embarking on her extensive administrative career, Dr. De Jesus spent three years teaching high school students at Araneta University, where she not only imparted knowledge but also nurtured a passion for learning. This experience solidified her belief in the power of education to unlock potential and create opportunities for individuals and communities.

Beyond her leadership roles at UCC, Dr. De Jesus served as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Office for Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) in Caloocan, a position she held concurrently with her university duties. This dual role highlights her unwavering dedication to serving the community, especially its most vulnerable members.

With over 33 years of dedicated service in Caloocan, Dr. De Jesus, a proud "Batang Kankaloo" born and raised in the Caloocan, has consistently demonstrated her commitment to using her education and skills to serve others, particularly those in need. She finds fulfillment in providing essential services and support to the community, exemplifying how education can serve as a catalyst for positive change and social responsibility.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. De Jesus balances her leadership role with her family, alongside her husband Roy Mario and their three children: Chelsea, Celine, and Charlene.

As she often tells her colleagues, “Magsilbi sa mga batang kankaloo ng tapat at may ngiti sa labi,” Dr. De Jesus's journey from a clerical position to university president is a powerful testament to the profound impact of education on personal development and community service. Her leadership and dedication continue to inspire those around her, making her an exemplary figure in both the academic and public service sectors. Her story serves as a reminder that with passion and commitment, education can lead to extraordinary success and meaningful change.
