In the recent 13th National Local Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (LCUAA) Games 2024, the student-athletes from the University of Caloocan City truly embodied the spirit of a Batang Kankaloo, proving that they are not only academically gifted but also fierce competitors in sports. With an impressive haul of 9 gold, 13 silver, and 3 bronze medals, the University proudly secured 6th place in the overall medal tally, competing against 25 local colleges and universities from October 20-26, 2024, at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun). This exhilarating event featured 21 dynamic sports competitions, including Arnis, Basketball (Men's 3x3), Chess, Karatedo, and Taekwondo.
Their remarkable achievements highlight not only their talent but also their dedication and perseverance. This success is also a testament to the steadfast support from the City Government of Caloocan, led by Mayor Dale "Along" Malapitan. The government provided essential assistance, allowing the student-athletes to focus entirely on their performance without external concerns. This event was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of the hard work and commitment of student-athletes from all participating institutions. Their success serves as an inspiration to us all, reminding us that with passion and determination, we can achieve great things.
