The Commission on Higher Education visits the University of Caloocan City for the initial application of BS Social Work program on Sept. 24, 2024. CHED Supervisor Mr. Sharn Baluyot, together with CHED RQUAT member Ms. Marilyn Manuel, conducted the on-site visit checking the application documents and facilities pending approval of the permit to operate for the academic year 2025-2026. Offering this new degree program, Bachelor of Science in Social Work is an advocacy of our City Mayor to hone interested individuals, who have a heart to help the community reach their full potential, to become Social Workers in Caloocan and serve the marginalized and vulnerable sectors of the community. Caloocan City government envisions that UCC will produce social workers who will become the partners of the city in addressing societal issues, promoting social change, protecting the rights of individuals, and creating a more just and equitable society.


The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) visited the University of Caloocan City on September 24, 2024, for the initial evaluation of the BS Social Work program. CHED Supervisor Mr. Sharn Baluyot, along with CHED RQUAT member Ms. Marilyn Manuel, led the on-site inspection to review the application documents and assess the facilities. This visit is a critical step toward securing the permit to operate for the academic year 2025–2026.


The introduction of the Bachelor of Science in Social Work program aligns with the advocacy of our Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, who aims to nurture individuals with a passion for community service and empower them to become skilled social workers in Caloocan. These future professionals will be equipped to serve the marginalized and vulnerable sectors of society.


The Local Government of Caloocan envisions that graduates of UCC’s Social Work program will become key partners in addressing social issues, promoting social change, safeguarding individual rights, and fostering a more just and equitable community.
